## How to use Alt Codes for Special Characters, and Symbols
|

To type an Alt Code for a special character or symbol on your computer please follow the instructions below.
|
||||||
|

|
Make sure that you switch on the Number Lock on your keyboard. Please click to learn how to do it on laptops.
|
||||||
|
Hold down the ALT key (left alt key).
|
||||||
|
Type the alt code(you should use the numbers on the keypad, not the ones on top row) for the special character or symbol you want to get and release the ALT key.

For example the alt code for **heart** is `3`.
|
||||||
|
Press and hold the `ALT` key and type `3` then release `ALT` key and you'll get `♥`
|
